Actions Influence Everything

Story:

Walter Palmer, an American Dentist and big game hunter. He has hunted many large undomesticated animals (such as elephants). This has already made some people think that he's a bad guy (as you can imagine) Palmer decided to hunt the king of the jungle... A Lion. He paid $55, 000 to go on a safari in Zimbabwe. This large amount of money also paid for a guide to help find the lion. When it was time to hunt, the guide found a lion, brought it back to Walter Palmer, and he shot it. what Palmer didn't know was that the lion he had just shot was a nationally loved lion named Cecil. All over the U.S people are angry at Walter Palmer, but should they be mad at him or at the guide who did know that the Lion wasn't supposed to be hunted.

My Thoughts:

I think because of the fact that he hunts animals that are not usually hunted and that people love so much, people already think that he's a bad guy. I also think that this is why most people choose to blame Palmer instead of the safari guide. Personally I don't like the fact that Walter Palmer hunts big-game animals, but I also don't think that it is all Palmer's fault that the lion (Cecil) got shot. The safari guide did get arrested and is being charged, but people are still more mad at Walter because of his previous reputation. I think that if we could erase Walter Palmer's past actions/reputation, then no one would be as mad at him and they would be more mad at the guide that led him to Cecil (the lion). This story shows how much your actions influence people's thoughts about you.
