There's Pain in Comfort...

        Reading Comfort is like reading someone's diary. It's so realistic and so easy to relate to, that you just want to keep reading and reading and reading reading and-
you get the point...
        There aren't many books that use the kind of language, that Carolee Dean does. I'm not talking about cussing/swearing, I'm talking about actual the actual way people talk. Most books are written with "proper" grammar and no "ain't" or "'cause". But we DO abbreviate in our every-day vocabulary. I think that part of the books "language" makes the story seem more realistic, and relatable.
        Another thing about this book that I absolutely love, the characters' stories. There is obviously a main character (Kenny), and the "love interest" (Cindy), but throughout the book (not just in these characters) the background stories start to unfold. Towards the middle of the book, the characters started to become more to me than just words written on a paper. They started to become people that were just living in another world, that we couldn't see. This world is much like ours, because many people go through a similar situation to Kenny's. But no one has gone through exact same thing. Personally, I think that's one of the best things about this book. It makes you look at yourself and say "Yeah, my situation is/was bad, but at least it wasn't as bad as Kenny's..."
        There are many (MANY) messages in this book, but the one that stood out to me the most was;
"No matter how bad it gets, it WILL get better." This was such and inspirational and emotional book, that I would recommend it to anyone who loves to read. This book will make you ask yourself who you are/who your becoming, and whether you like the answer or not. Will Kenny leave or will he stay?
